The theme also includes hydrogen production, transport and storage, nuclear-energy facilities, energy-storage systems, high-voltage and critical energy infrastructure, maintenance strategies and practical constraints during offshore, industrial and field repair work.
Use of digital documentation, automated visual inspection, AI-supported assessment, drones, robotics, sensors, remote monitoring, non-destructive testing and data-based maintenance planning. The session will examine how digital tools can improve coating inspection, traceability, decision-making and quality assurance without replacing professional judgement.
Practical strategies for maintenance painting, localised repair, overcoating, compatibility assessment, surface-tolerant systems, access limitations, shutdown planning and work on operating facilities. Contributions may address condition assessment, repair qualification, life-cycle costing and decisions on whether to repair, replace or redesign an existing protection system.
Intumescent coatings, sprayed and board-based passive fire-protection systems, hydrocarbon and jet-fire exposure, thermal barriers, fire protection of steel and critical components, and protection of battery and hydrogen infrastructure. Topics include design, substrate and primer compatibility, application, inspection, durability, ageing, repair, certification and the interaction between corrosion protection and fire performance.
Protection of bridges, railways, roads, ports, airports, urban infrastructure, buildings and industrial civil structures. The session covers steel and concrete, galvanised structures, embedded components, joints, drainage, cathodic protection, design for durability, maintenance under traffic or operational constraints and case studies from new-build and rehabilitation projects.
Corrosion and coating challenges in pipelines, storage tanks, refineries, chemical plants, terminals and process facilities. Relevant topics include internal linings, immersion service, chemical resistance, elevated temperatures, corrosion under insulation, atmospheric exposure, shutdown and turnaround work, inspection, repair and risk-based maintenance.
Protective systems for military vehicles, naval assets, aircraft-support infrastructure, bases, shelters, storage facilities and other critical assets. The session will address harsh climates, chemical exposure, rapid field repair, limited maintenance windows, operational readiness, logistics, fire protection, durability and resilience. Presentations must not include classified or security-sensitive information.
Cooperation between industry, universities, laboratories, certification bodies and public institutions. Topics include standardisation, qualification and certification, training and professional competence, R&D funding, technology transfer, scale-up, commercialisation, validation of new materials and business–science matchmaking. The session will highlight how technical ideas can be converted into reliable industrial soleutions.
